About this fire pit
El Patron is Lone Star Grillz's take on the old school hot box cooker: a fire brick lined firebox under a heavy 3/16 inch steel hood that grills, smokes low and slow, sears, bakes and even makes pizza through a second door in the hood. It sells for $2,095 at the maker in carbon steel and $5,237.50 in all stainless.
The charcoal grate raises and lowers between 5 and 17 inches below the cooking grate, so it moves from high heat grilling to indirect smoking. It weighs about 450 pounds and rolls on heavy duty casters on the cart model.
