Power

8kW/9kW/10.5kW, 240V, 40/45/50-amp requirement, hard-wire connect

Space

86″W x 125″D x 92″H. Keep the clearances in the maker's manual.

Base

A level, solid base: a concrete pad, pavers, or a framed deck checked for the load.

Permits

Electrical work usually needs a permit, and some cities regulate backyard structures. Check with yours first.

Install notes

Electric sauna heaters are hardwired on a dedicated 240V circuit by a licensed electrician. Confirm panel capacity before you order, and check the heater manual for breaker and wire size, since they rise with kW.

Outdoor rooms need a level, well drained base. Most makers accept a concrete pad, compacted crushed stone or a properly framed deck, and barrels sit on cradles that must be fully supported. Plan roofing for wet or snowy climates.

Local permits vary. Many cities treat an outdoor sauna as an accessory structure and every hardwired heater as an electrical permit. Our regional guides cover Washington, Oregon and Clark County, Nevada in detail.

About this sauna

The Almost Heaven Allegheny 6 Person Cabin Sauna is a cabin-style outdoor sauna with a pitched roof and framed walls, closer to a small building than a kit. It seats up to six people. Assembled, it measures 86″W x 125″D x 92″H. At the maker it is priced from $10,722 to $15,006 depending on configuration.

You can configure it with a 8 kW, 9 kW, 10.5 kW electric heater. The smart heater packages add app control and scheduling; the dial heaters are simpler and have fewer parts to fail.

A wood-burning stove kit is offered, useful off grid or where a 240V circuit is costly

Questions people ask before buying

What circuit does the Allegheny 6 Person Cabin Sauna need?

The maker lists the heater as 8kW/9kW/10.5kW, 240V, 40/45/50-amp requirement, hard-wire connect. Have a licensed electrician confirm your panel can carry it and size the breaker and wire from the heater manual.

How long does it take to heat up?

Traditional electric saunas usually take 30 to 60 minutes to reach full temperature, longer in cold weather or with a smaller heater. Infrared cabinets feel warm sooner because they heat you rather than the air.
