About this hot tub
The Octagram is an eight-sided, wood-fired hot tub made of welded marine-grade aluminum and wrapped in North American cedar. It sells for $7,500 at the maker and needs no electricity at all.
A submersed aluminum stove heats about 300 gallons of fresh or salt water, so it works at a cabin, on the coast or in a city backyard with no circuit to run. Each tub is made to order in the maker's family-owned metal shop in Midcoast Maine.
