Octagram

Eight-sided, wood-fired aluminum hot tubs wrapped in cedar, with no electricity needed.

Octagram builds one thing: an eight-sided wood-fired hot tub welded from 1/8 inch marine-grade aluminum and sheathed in North American cedar. A submersed aluminum stove sits behind a cedar and aluminum heat shield, so the tub needs no electricity and works off-grid or in a city yard. Per the maker it seats two comfortably and three to four cozily, holds about 300 gallons of fresh or salt water, measures 5 feet across by 3 feet deep and weighs about 200 pounds empty. Every seam is leak-tested, and the tub ships with the stove, a 5 foot stove pipe, drain fittings and a cedar cover from the shop in West Bath, Maine.
