About this fire pit

The SCOUT is Burly's smallest wood-burning fire pit, a 17 inch two-piece design built to cut smoke and travel easily between the patio and the campsite. It sells for $595 at the maker.

It is heavy gauge carbon steel with white oak handles and weighs 43 pounds. The inner unit lifts out of the outer shell, which makes clean out and transport simple, and it arrives pre-assembled.

The SCOUT is 17 inches inside and 43 pounds, easy to carry to a campsite. The GATHER is 21 inches inside and 72 pounds, better for a backyard group.

Is it smokeless?

Burly says its design is crafted to reduce smoke and that it throws fewer sparks than a traditional wood fire. Burn seasoned or kiln-dried hardwood for the cleanest fire.
