Set wood-burning fire pits on a noncombustible surface such as pavers, stone or concrete, and keep the distance from structures, fences and overhangs that your local fire code requires. Many cities ask for 10 to 25 feet.

Check burn bans before you light. Several Oregon and Washington jurisdictions restrict recreational fires in dry months, and a gas burner is often the option allowed when wood is not. Our guides list the current rules.

Will a Stahl gas burner fit it?

No. Stahl says its gas burner kits are not compatible with the Camper or Patio models; they fit the Stahl Gas Firepit and X Firepit.

Each Stahl product page says "Made in Portland, Oregon, U.S.A." We quote that wording and show no Made in USA badge.
