How we picked these (please read). We have not tested any of these cold plunges hands-on. A tub made this list only if its maker states in writing, on its own site, that it is made, manufactured or built in the United States. We quote that wording exactly. We do not add a "Made in USA" badge of our own, and an origin statement on a maker's site is not the same as a written confirmation to us under the FTC "all or virtually all" standard. Specs and prices are from each maker's page, checked October 22, 2026. We did not use customer reviews or star ratings. Brevley & Sons does not currently sell any of these brands. We have contacted some of these makers about carrying their products, and no brand paid for placement or saw this page before it went live.
This page is a companion to our best cold plunges of 2026 ranking, which already covers three tubs with US origin statements: the BlueCube C1 and C3 (BlueCube says they are handbuilt in Redmond, Oregon), the Penguin Chillers Beyond Cold line (Penguin says it builds its chillers in Knoxville, Tennessee) and the Ice Barrel 500. The four below are not on that list.
The short list
- Best value US-built hard tub: Cryospring Barton
- Best for freezing winters and coldest water: Fire Cold Plunge All-In-One
- Lightest tub to move into place: The Cold Life Ultimate Plunge
- Best commercial-grade, built for heavy use: Coldtub (The Coldtub)
Side-by-side specs and origin wording
All figures from the maker's product page. Filled-load psf is our arithmetic: filled weight divided by outer footprint, before a person gets in. A typical residential deck is designed for 40 psf (see our deck load guide).

1. Best value US-built hard tub: Cryospring Barton
Why it stands out: the lowest price on this list for a tub with a real chiller, and the biggest water volume. Cryospring says the Barton is designed, rotomolded and hand-assembled by Cryospring in Minnesota.
- $3,999 with chiller, or $2,499 for the tub only if you already own a chiller.
- Sets as low as 39°F. Cryospring lists a 1/2 hp Active Aqua chiller, a 1,200 gallon per hour pump, a 50 micron filter and a 100 mg/hr ozone generator.
- 150 gallons max, with an internal size of 53.25 x 26 x 27.25 in. Cryospring says there is room for up to two adults.
- Runs on a standard 110V outlet at 620 W and 6.9 A max, with an IP54 control box and a GFCI cord.
- Free curbside delivery to the lower 48 per Cryospring. It ships at 285 lb.
Watch for: the 39°F floor is a few degrees warmer than the others here. Cryospring says the white finish is approved for full sun, while the Obsidian Black finish is for indoor or full shade only. At about 70 psf filled by our math, it is too heavy for a typical deck without an engineer's check.
2. Best for freezing winters and coldest water: Fire Cold Plunge All-In-One
Why it stands out: the cooling is built into the tub walls rather than an external chiller loop, it reaches 32°F, and the maker rates it for outdoor air from -20°F to 120°F without winterizing. Fire Cold Plunge says every Fire Cold Plunge is made in Wimberley, Texas.
- $4,995. Down to 32°F, and the maker says it can make ice.
- Seamless tub with no plumbing holes and no hose connections, per the maker.
- Exterior 65 x 28.5 x 33.5 in, interior 54 x 21 x 24 in, 180 lb empty. Recommended for users up to 6'6" and 280 lb.
- Standard 110 to 120V household outlet, with a 2.36 A operating draw in the maker's comparison chart. A GFCI extension is in the box.
- Curbside delivery with about two weeks average transit, per the maker.
Watch for: the maker's winter guidance still asks you to keep the tub powered in a covered, sheltered spot out of direct rain and snow, keep water above 40°F during subzero weather, and inspect it daily. The base manufacturer warranty is one year; the extra two years come through SureBright as a limited-time offer.
3. Lightest tub to move into place: The Cold Life Ultimate Plunge
Why it stands out: at 78 lb dry, it is by far the lightest tub here to carry through a side yard or up stairs before filling. The Cold Life says it is designed, engineered and hand-built in the USA in small runs, lists "Manufacturer: USA, fulfillment Miami, FL," and says its Pro-Curve chiller is USA-engineered and manufactured.
- From $6,995 (list $8,495). Chills to 37°F; a cold and hot version (37 to 104°F) is a $699 option.
- 100 gallons, about 1,000 lb with water, per the maker.
- 110 to 120V, 450 W, 3.9 A on a standard GFCI outlet.
Watch for: it is built in small runs, and the page we checked showed the current run delivering in February 2027. The included warranty is 12 months. The maker's wording says "hand-built in the USA" rather than naming a state.
4. Best commercial-grade, built for heavy use: Coldtub
Why it stands out: Coldtub says its tubs are 100% manufactured in Nashville, Tennessee, built for hundreds of people a day. It has the longest shell warranty here and app control.
- $13,900 for The Coldtub, a one-person lay-down tub for users up to 6'7". Range 35 to 104°F.
- 100 gallons, 390 lb empty and 1,403 lb full, 74.75 x 31.5 x 34 in.
- 110V on a 20 amp dedicated outlet. Coldtub says it is UL certified by TUV and uses a 1 micron filter with Dead Sea salt sanitation.
- Warranty listed as 2 years, with 7 years on the shell. One residential-only package on the page lists 1 year parts and 5 years acrylic, so confirm which applies to your order.
- Curbside crate delivery; white glove is $750 extra.
Watch for: price. At about 86 psf filled by our math it belongs on a slab or engineered pad, and the 20 amp dedicated circuit may mean new wiring.
Also considered
- Morozko Forge. Its home page says "Made in the USA" and describes ice-making plunges at 33°F with a 3-year warranty. We did not find a published price on the pages we checked, so we left it off the ranked list.
- BlueCube, Penguin Chillers and Ice Barrel. See our main 2026 ranking and the Renu vs BlueCube comparison.
- Edge Theory Labs. Its site says the company has closed, so we do not list it.
How to read a "Made in USA" claim before you buy
- Read the exact words. "Made" or "manufactured" in a named US place is a stronger claim than "designed," "engineered," "assembled" or "serviced" in the USA.
- Ask about the chiller. The chiller has the compressor, often the most imported part. The Cold Life names its chiller's origin; most makers do not.
- Ask for it in writing for your model. A maker that meets the FTC "all or virtually all" standard should be willing to say so for the specific product.
- Do not let origin outrank fit. Check your circuit, your floor or deck load, and the maker's winter rules for your climate first. See our PNW winter guide.

Frequently asked questions
Which cold plunges are made in the USA?
Go only by what the maker states in writing. On the pages we checked October 22, 2026: Cryospring says the Barton is designed, rotomolded and hand-assembled by Cryospring in Minnesota. Fire Cold Plunge says every Fire Cold Plunge is made in Wimberley, Texas. Coldtub says its tubs are 100% manufactured in Nashville, Tennessee. The Cold Life says the Ultimate Plunge is designed, engineered and hand-built in the USA and that its Pro-Curve chiller is USA-engineered and manufactured. BlueCube (Redmond, Oregon) and Penguin Chillers (Tennessee) are covered in our main cold plunge ranking.
Is "made in USA" the same as "assembled in USA"?
No. Under the FTC standard, an unqualified "Made in USA" claim means all or virtually all of the product is made in the United States. "Assembled in USA" or "designed in USA" are qualified claims and can include imported parts such as compressors or pumps. We quote each maker word for word for that reason and do not add our own badge.
What is the cheapest American-built cold plunge with a chiller?
Of the tubs on this list, the Cryospring Barton at $3,999 with its chiller (or $2,499 for the tub only) is the lowest published price we found as of October 22, 2026. The Fire Cold Plunge All-In-One is $4,995.
Did Brevley & Sons test these tubs?
No. We have not used any of these tubs hands-on. We compared maker-published price, lowest temperature, capacity, weight, power draw, warranty and stated place of manufacture, and we link every source. We did not use customer reviews or star ratings.
Can these run on a normal outlet?
All four run on 120V household power per their makers. Cryospring lists 620 W and 6.9 A max. The Cold Life lists 450 W and 3.9 A on a standard GFCI outlet. Fire Cold Plunge lists a 2.36 A operating draw on a standard outlet. Coldtub calls for a 20 amp dedicated outlet. GFCI protection applies to all of them; see our cold plunge GFCI guide.
